Research
Dr. Elmar P. Wach is involved in research – his main areas are the Semantic Web and e-commerce. He concisely calls it “Semantic e-commerce”. When building a consortium either Elmar/P/Wach eCommerce consulting can join as industry partner or Dr. Elmar P. Wach as academic partner as member of the Semantic Technology Institute STI.
Qualification
Dr. Elmar P. Wach has acquired sound standing knowledge about semantic technologies. In the last years he has successfully accomplished the following courses at the University of Innsbruck:

- Since 2009: Several seminars and presentations focusing on semantic technologies
Additionally, Dr. Elmar P. Wach has presented his research results in the area of automated ontology evolution at international conferences and is a reviewer.

Dr. Elmar P. Wach is currently involved in the following research project:

SOFAR – Semantics and Ontologies for Feedback-Driven Adaptive Recommender Systems
Responsible for the work package “Feedback-Driven Ontology Evolution and Ontology Learning from Text”. The project aims to optimise an e-shop recommender by adapting according to user feedback and thus providing better and need-based product recommendations to the customer.
